The 100 Worst Movies of 2005

Enough of those boring best of lists (they are quite repeptitive) this list is arguably the most important one you will read this year. Just tally how much of the crap you’ve seen this year and it’ll make you reassess your taste :). The titles in red are the really bad ones.

  1. Yeah, I sort of agree with that but I still like his columns. They’re hysterical and he is an intelligent critic. If there is something I can get out of the column than that is all I look for when I’m reading a particular critic.

  2. I’ve seen 10 – all of which were requested by my daughter. By the way, most made me laugh. I have Mr. & Mrs. Smith on rental now, but don’t want to see it.

Oh, and I rented Kung Fu Hustle based on one of your lists. I LOVED IT!!! Haven’t laughed so hard in months. Thanks.

  3. I have only seen two good movies in the theaters this year: March of the Penguins and Harry Potter. I absolutely hated Be Cool. One of the worst ever, almost Napoleon Dynamite bad.

  4. I’ve seen three – gasp – one at the request at my father (Miss Congeniality 2).

I saw Guess Who only because it was filmed in my town. (I have a whole story about that, that I will tell soon) So that was a must-see.

And the third, Austin, I saw at NYLC Hitch. We didn’t even stay through the whole thing because it was so bad.

Sable – Glad you liked Kung Fu Hustle. I influenced someone elses movie watching experience… now my life is complete.

And most of these so-called bad movies I saw, made me laugh too. It all depends on your taste.

  5. I’d disagree with Madagascar and Mr & Mrs Smith. Both were entertaining (but not wonderful) movies. They don’t belong on the list. Yet, critics have opinions as well, so I understand everyone’s list is different.

Almost Napoleon Dynamite bad? That was a great movie!

  6. It is a list of 100 movies so some are more deserving to be on it than others. I think with Madagascar when compared to the recent animation movies, it’s not on a Finding Nemo level, but its for kids and my opinion a children’s movie is that if the child laughs and likes it then it is good. And with ND, I think you have to be a certain mood to enjoy it (which I did after a 2nd viewing).

  7. I saw 15, and agree that most of them were crap. But there are crap movies that can be entertaining on one level or another(Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Island, etc.). Not a toal waste.
