I was thinking about seeing World Trade Center tonight but after I read Arden’s blog this morning, I realized that I’m not ready to see it yet.
I’ve stated this before. I have nothing against a movie about 9/11, but I just can’t go see this movie. Not in a theater, not on a big screen, and not in front of people I don’t know.
Here’s what I posted about World Trade Center back in December. My opinions are the first couple of paragraphs and the rest in a NY Times article about the movie.
I do want to see World Trade Center. I just don’t know when I’m going to be able to.
It really is an emotionally draining experience. I had tears in my eyes throughout much of the film. But, ultimately it is a masterpiece from Oliver Stone. You can read my review of it on my other blog (I started a second one). I guess it’s a lot more personal for you living so near NYC, and I’ve only been there one time and live 10 hours away. I’m sure you have a much greater love and connection to the city than those of us in the South.
