I saw a bunch of movies this weekend:
United 93
A Prarie Home Companion
Airplane!
Marie Antoinette (review coming soon)
But the best part of my weekend…
watching Connie and Carla….
twice!
Is it the worlds greatest movie? Not at all. But I loved it nonetheless. Pretty much, Connie and Carla (Nia Vardalos and Toni Collette) are professional singers without any fame. They witness a murder and are forced into hiding: as drags queens in West Hollywood.
Maybe it’s because I knew every showtune performed during the movie, or a cameo appearance by Debbie Reynolds (!!!!) or just the utter cheesiness of Connie and Carla, I don’t know. But I have a new guilty pleasure.
Did you like Prairie Home? I loved it. I bought it the day it came out on DVD. I also saw United 93, but I don’t think I can say it was an enjoyable experience. That wouldn’t be fitting, but it was an excellent film.
Praire Home was good. Not my favorite of the year, but I enjoyed it for the most part. Really liked United 93 though.
