Best Actor: Richard Jenkins

Richard Jenkins in The Visitor

Of all this year’s Academy Award nominated movies, one that stands out is The Visitor. Richard Jenkins is nominated for his role as Walter, a college professor whose life is changed forever when he finds Tarek (Haaz Sleiman) and Zainab (Danai Gurira) living in his apartment.

Director by Tom McCarthy (The Station Agent), The Visitor is a far more moving picture than most of the Best Picture nominees and Jenkins, a lifelong character actor, delivers a poignant and touching performance. Here is a clip from the film:

If I had my way, Richard Jenkins would win the Oscar for Best Actor tomorrow night.
