Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, The Bourne Identity… Bridget Jones?
That’s right. Everyone’s favorite British publishing exec-turned TV journalist Bridget Jones (played by Renee Zellweger) is returning to the big screen.
According to Variety, the Working Title project is currently untitled, not planning to go into production until late next year, and the movie will most likely focus on Bridget’s attempt to have a baby in her 40s. This Bridget Jones installment is being adapted from a series of weekly columns Helen Fielding wrote in 2005 for the British newspaper, The Independent.
I’m actually not too opposed to a third installment of Bridget Jones. I like the character, I generally like Renee Zellweger, and it is almost too early to judge the film, especially since it does not have a writer or director yet.
