2009 Emmy Awards Nominees

Who will be competing at the 2009 Emmy Awards on Sept. 20?

30 Rock leads the pack with 22 nominations, while Mad Men received 16. Family Guy makes Emmy history by being the first prime time animated series nominated for Best Comedy Series (but how it got nominated before The Simpsons is a mystery). I’m pleased that many of my favorites – Jim Parsons, Jemaine Clement, How I Met Your Mother, Elisabeth Moss – were nominated. But I can’t believe that neither Friday Night Lights or January Jones (for her brilliant work on Mad Men) were nominated. I guess I have to look on the bright side – although Entourage was over-nominated, Jeremy Piven wasn’t.

  1. Couldn't be happier that some of my favorites are gettin' some Emmy love, especially Jim Parsons, Jack McBrayer, and Elisabeth Moss.

Sad that there was no Christina Hendricks though.

Likewise I'm glad that the gushing over Jeremy Piven appears to be over.

  2. I was so happy about FOTC being nominated :D I love that show!
Also Jim Parsons being nominated is also super awesome. I should really really watch that show instead of randomly watching from time to time.

You should watch Battlestar Galattica. I've watched a bit but it's flipping amazing.

  3. Yeah, I'm disappointed that none the supporting actresses from Mad Men were nominated. January Jones and Christina Hendricks made season 2.

Also, think of how great next year will be when Boston Legal isn't nominated for anything.

AND Don't worry Fredders! I watch BBT every week. I'm sure we can find some time to watch it together next semester. And I'll watch BG if you watch The Wire. Deal? Deal.
