Here is what I watched this week.
The Godfather: Part III (dir. Francis Ford Coppola, 1990)
What a strange and ridiculous movie. Related post: What I Learned From The Godfather: Part III
The Prisoner of Zenda (dir. John Cromwell, 1937)
Real men swashbuckle in sweaters.
The Turning Point (dir. Herbert Ross, 1977)
I have a strange and unexplained fondness for dance movies and television shows. (Center Stage and Dance Academy are so ridiculous, they’re good.) I loved The Turning Point, even though it is severely melodramatic. But now I want Shirley MacLaine and Maggie Smith recreate MacLaine and Anne Bancroft’s fight scene on Downton Abbey.
Mrs. Brown (dir. John Madden, 1997)
If you don’t enjoy Judi Dench playing Queen Victoria (or any queen for that matter) then I’m fairly certain you have no soul.
Astro Boy (dir. David Bowers, 2009)
I have no opinion about this movie. At all.
