The latest James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, is almost here (November 7. This is the first trailer I’ve seen of the movie.
Woooooo! This looks awesome! After seeing Casino Royale, I have high expectations for Quantum of Solace. So lets hope it lives up to the hype.
Daniel Craig hasn’t even made his debut as James Bond in the upcoming Casino Royale, but that hasn’t stopped Diddy (wasn’t he P. Diddy like last week?) from claiming his dream role – James Bond.
Diddy Eyes 007 Role
By WENN Friday, November 03, 2006
HOLLYWOOD – Hip-hop star Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has issued a challenge to new James Bond Daniel Craig, because he wants to be the first black 007.
The rapper, who has already appeared alongside Halle Berry in Monster’s Ball, is keen to expand his acting resume by playing the suave superspy.
And despite his dark skin and American accent, he’s confident he can play the iconic British part well.
He says, “One day the time will come for a black Bond and hopefully I can audition for it.
“It’s a dream of mine to play a great role like that.” Craig’s 007 debut is set for release later this year in Casino Royale.
I think he fits in very well actually.
But it doesn’t look like that is happening any time soon.Of course, with a franchise like the James Bond movies, critics count very little compared to the revenue generated.
First up, a rumor about James Bond.
Brosnan Back as Bond?
By WENN Thursday, June 29, 2006
HOLLYWOOD – Pierce Brosnan looks set to follow in the footsteps of Sean Connery by teaming up with movie mogul Kevin McClory for a rival 007 film. Brosnan, who was unceremoniously dumped as James Bond last year, is the favorite to play the superspy in Never Say Never Again producer McClory’s new movie, which is set to compete with an upcoming Bond film. McClory, who owns the rights to 1965’s Thunderball, remade that film as Never Say Never Again in the early 1980s, and now he plans to have yet another go at the Bond film–with Brosnan as a returning 007.
And this is official and very important news….
Richards to Shoot ‘Pirates’ Role in September
By WENN Thursday, June 29, 2006
HOLLYWOOD – Keith Richards’ Pirates of the Caribbean cameo will be filmed when The Rolling Stones’ European tour wraps up in September, following months of speculation. Johnny Depp famously based his character, Captain Jack Sparrow, on the “Brown Sugar” guitarist, and Richards has long been touted for an appearance as Depp’s father in one of the two forthcoming sequels. And, after masses of on/off speculation, director Gore Verbinski has confirmed Richards will appear in the third Pirates movie, despite falling out of a palm tree in April and subsequently undergoing skull surgery.
Verbinski tells MTV, “We’ve written a little cameo, and Keith has scheduled us into his tour, and it’s going to be a lot of fun. Apparently he’s doing really well, and we’ll shoot him in September.”
It’s not too early to discuss a movie that’s not being released until November 17, is it? I don’t think so, especially when the movie is the next James Bond installment.
In case you haven’t heard by now there’s a new James Bond. Daniel Craig replaced Pierce Brosnan as 007 in October and by the looks of the trailer for Casino Royale, he’s doing an okay job.
It’s not going to be an easy road for Daniel Craig. He is after all stepping into an iconic movie role and let’s not forget how Pierce Brosnan was adored as James Bond. Fans have already joined forces, calling for a major boycott of the upcoming Bond flick. (If you’re interested, you can visit their website here.)
I really hope Daniel Craig proves all the skeptics wrong, just because I have loved him since before he was ever considerd for the James Bond role.
By now you’ve probably known this for a while… Pierce Brosnan will no longer play 007. It’s very sad for all you James Bond fans out there. But that’s not the only James Bond news.
For the past few months speculation has risen. Who will be the new James Bond? Names like Hugh Jackman, Orlando Bloom, Eric Bana, Clive Owen, Colin Farrell, Heath Ledger, and Ewan McGregor were thrown into the mix. Pretty much if you were male, had an accent, and semi to really famous in the film industry you were considered to play James Bond.
Well the decision has been made and it’s none of those hot men. Yes, they are all pretty and I would have been pleased with any of them. But the next James Bond, well let me just say I am super glad it’s him.
The next James Bond is….. Daniel Craig. Who is this Daniel Craig fellow you ask. Only the hottest Englishman you never knew you knew.
Shockingly, I know who he is and I am actually almost excited for the next James Bond movie.
Daniel Craig… well he’s a good pick and he’s actually a good actor. Rent Layer Cake, a crime drama from 2004, and you’ll see what I mean. He has also appeared in Sylvia (2003), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), and Road to Perdition (2002). Craig will next be in Munich, which will be released in December.
Craig will be the sixth actor to play the role of Bond after Sean Connery (1962-71), George Lazenby (1969), Roger Moore (1973-85), Timothy Dalton (1987-89), and Pierce Brosnan (1995-2002). He is also the second Englishman (after Moore) and the first blond. (The apparently big, important stuff in the James Bond series/industry.)
The next James Bond film is slated for release in January 2006 and proving that Craig is not a one-hit wonder as Bond, he will be in many more to come. To read more about this annoucement, click here.
