TCM Fest: Mission Accomplished

24 hours and 17 movies later, I have met my goal of watching an entire day TCM programming. It was great fun; I saw several movies I had never seen until today. But all I can say about this accomplishment is…

I’m going to bed.

TCM Fest: Three Wise Girls

Three Wise Girls is a 1932 pre-code film starring Jean Harlow in one of her first starring roles. She plays Cassie Barnes, a small town who moves to New York, becomes a fashion model, and begins an affair with a very married man. Harlow, who is as blonde as ever, sometime feels miscast as a small town girl but she plays the part with plenty of sincerity, charm and humor that makes her role believable.

Mae Clarke plays her friend Gladys who is madly in love with her society boyfriend. She delivers an excellent performance.
